This role at USP involves the synthesis and delivery of USP Reference Standard candidate materials and API impurities by designing cost-effective synthetic routes. Responsibilities include literature search, planning, and executing synthesis of target molecules, ensuring task completion as per timelines, preparing project reports, adhering to quality management systems, and maintaining lab safety practices. As a part of the USP team, you will contribute to the organization's public health mission of increasing equitable access to high-quality, safe medicine globally. The Scientist-I/Technical Associate will be responsible for tasks such as designing synthetic routes, procuring raw materials, performing reactions in the lab, purifying compounds, troubleshooting synthesis issues, and ensuring project completion within timelines. The ideal candidate for this role will have an MSc in Organic Chemistry with relevant experience in API Process R&D/CDMO/CRO. Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, interpretation of spectral data, literature search, process development, troubleshooting skills, and effective communication are essential. Additional preferences include knowledge of organic reactions, experience in a GMP/GLP environment, and a track record of patents/publications in synthetic organic chemistry.
