Technical Architect - Mobile Application (AWS Stack)

About the Role:

Technical Architect

You will be responsible for shaping the apps technical architecture, driving development best practices, and ensuring scalability, performance, and security from Phase 1 (MVP) through Phase 2 (advanced AI/ML features).

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design

  a scalable and secure mobile application on

  AWS cloud infrastructure

  , integrating multiple data sources including wearables, external platforms, and manual inputs.
• Collaborate with

  product, design, and development teams

  to define the technical roadmap and system architecture aligned with business goals.
• Lead

  end-to-end development efforts

  , with hands-on coding as needed in

  Flutter (iOS/Android)

  and

  Node.js

  .
• Integrate and manage data flow from

  Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, Fitbit, Samsung Health

  , and other wearable APIs.
• Build robust APIs and backend services using

  Node.js

  and

  AWS Lambda/API Gateway

  , and manage scalable databases (Amazon Aurora / DynamoDB).
• Integrate

  Amazon Textract / Rekognition

  for OCR of medical reports and documents.
• Design and oversee implementation of

  AI/ML workflows using Amazon SageMaker

  to deliver predictive insights and personalised recommendations.
• Implement emergency response features, service booking modules, and a dynamic user dashboard with health insights and carer management.
• Ensure compliance with

  data security standards

  and best practices for handling personal health information (PHI).
• Provide

  technical leadership

  and mentorship to developers and external vendors.

Initial Phases Deliverables:

Phase 1:

• Data Collection Modules (Wearables, Manual Entry, Health Providers)
• Core User Dashboard with Health Overview & Emergency Assistance
• Carer Management and Service Booking Functionality
• MVP deployment on AWS

Phase 2:

• AI/ML-Powered Insights & Life Expectancy Indicator
• AI Recommendations Engine
• OCR-enabled Document Uploading
• Performance Optimisation and Feature Enhancements

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years in software engineering with

  3+ years as a Technical Architect

• Proven experience with

  Flutter mobile development

  across iOS and Android
• Deep expertise in

  Node.js

  with frameworks like

  Express

• Experience with

  AWS services

  : Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB/Aurora, Elastic Beanstalk, Cognito, CloudWatch
• Hands-on with

  Amazon SageMaker

  ,

  Textract/Rekognition

  , and relevant AI/ML workflows
• Familiarity with

  wearable SDKs

  : HealthKit, Google Fit, Fitbit, Samsung Health
• Strong understanding of

  OAuth, API security

  , and

  health data compliance

  (e.g., HIPAA or local equivalents)
• Solid background in

  microservices architecture

  ,

  CI/CD

  , and

  DevOps on AWS

• Ability to create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and oversee code reviews
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Desirable:

• Experience with healthcare applications, aged care tech, or similar domains
• Knowledge of Visual Care SDK or similar care management tools
• Familiarity with data visualisation libraries and frameworks
• AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)
