Tech Lead - Payments

Role Overview

• Lead the architecture and development of our payments infrastructure.
• Own the technical roadmap for seamless payment processing, subscription billing, and financial integrations serving SMBs.
  

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable payment systems for US market (ACH, credit cards, digital wallets)
• Lead a team of 3-5 engineers, driving technical excellence and fast execution
• Architect integrations with payment gateways and compliance frameworks
• Ensure PCI-DSS compliance, fraud prevention, and 99.9% uptime
• Handle multi-currency, tax calculations, and US regulatory requirements
• Partner with product teams to solve real problems for American merchants
• Navigate banking systems, chargeback management, and dispute resolution
  

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years in backend engineering, 2+ years leading technical teams
• Experience with Stripe, Authorize.net, Square, or similar payment gateways
• Strong understanding of US compliance (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, state regulations)
• Knowledge of ACH transfers, credit card processing, and subscription billing
