Reporting To: IT Manager / Hospital Administrator

Job Summary:

The System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the hospital’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, software systems, and user support. The role ensures uninterrupted operation of hospital information systems, electronic medical records (EMR), and related healthcare applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and hospital software systems.
• Ensure smooth operation of Hospital Information System (HIS), EMR, PACS, and other healthcare applications.
• Monitor system performance, perform regular backups, and ensure data security and recovery.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain antivirus systems, firewall, and other security tools to safeguard hospital data.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across systems.
• Coordinate with vendors for IT equipment, software licensing, and support services.
• Ensure compliance with hospital IT policies, data protection laws, and healthcare data standards.
• Assist in planning and implementing IT upgrades or digital transformation projects.
• Provide technical support and training to hospital staff on IT usage and best practices.
• Maintain IT inventory and documentation for audits and management review.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in IT system administration, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, networking, database management, and security protocols.
• Familiarity with hospital management systems (HMS/HIS) and EMR software preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle emergency IT issues on priority.

Work Conditions:

• Based in hospital premises (onsite role).
• May require on-call support for emergency technical issues.
