Systems Analyst 1-IT

We are seeking an experienced Backup Administrator to manage and optimize our enterprise backup and recovery environment across multiple platforms including

Dell EMC NetWorker, Veeam, Rubrik, and Cohesity

. The role involves ensuring data protection, backup reliability, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness for mission-critical systems.The ideal candidate will be responsible for daily backup operations, troubleshooting failures, managing backup policies, coordinating restores, performing capacity planning, and continuously improving backup performance and security. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with modern backup technologies in large, distributed environments.Expected to work in Shift 5:30 PM - 2:30 AM IST24/7 Oncall including weekend for 2 weeks a month

Responsibilities

Provide support to internal users of Oracle Applications and legacy applications and ensure maximum efficiency in the use of those applications. Respond to requests for support by users. Test and coordinate testing of new releases of Oracle Applications. Log bugs against applications and follow up with IT and Development. Monitor future applications releases. Train users on features of applications. Maintain applications responsibilities based on work group of user. Act as reporting resource. Represent users at Data Center meetings, user meetings at quarter end and whenever necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor daily backup and restore operations across NetWorker, Veeam, Rubrik, and Cohesity platforms.
• Configure and maintain backup policies, schedules, retention settings, and storage targets.
• Troubleshoot backup failures, performance issues, job delays, and infrastructure-related errors.
• Perform on-demand and scheduled data restores in coordination with application, database, and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure backup compliance with security best practices, audit requirements, and organizational policies.
• Conduct capacity planning for backup storage, cloud targets, and long-term retention environments.
• Implement and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure recovery readiness and minimal downtime.
• Manage integration of backup systems with VMware, physical servers, databases, and cloud workloads.
• Generate and review daily/weekly/monthly backup health reports and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors for support cases, upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
• Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, procedures, and architectural diagrams.
• Support automation initiatives to reduce manual tasks and improve operational efficiency.
