Job Description

As a System Software Engineer in Test at Varex Imaging, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of system software used in X-Ray Imaging Components. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and executing automated test software to guarantee product reliability and performance. - Collaborating with development, SWQA, and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into the software development lifecycle and maintain quality checkpoints. - Applying strong knowledge of software testing methodologies such as unit, functional, integration, and reliability testing. - Creating lab testing strategies and ensuring consistent and efficient lab automation. - Advocating for good software testing practices throughout the development process. - Designing, building, and unit testing object-oriented software in a team-oriented environment. - Understanding product development processes like Change Control, Design Control, and SDLC. - Demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills. - Interfacing and communicating effectively with team members across different time zones. - Working independently with minimal supervision. Qualifications required for this role include: - A B.S in Software Engineering or Computer Science. - 3+ years of relevant work experience. - Proficiency in C++. - Experience with CI/CD. - Familiarity with Google Test or similar technologies is advantageous. - Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems. - Experience with Software Control Management systems, preferably git. - Ability to diagnose issues using log files. - Understanding of system-level software (drivers, firmware, networking, wifi, and test applications) is highly desirable. - Passion for developing efficient, testable, and well-documented code. - Previous experience with imaging products or designing software products in a regulated industry like FDA is highly desirable.
