The System Requirement Engineer for Active Safety Integration team is responsible for the end-to-end development and integration of ultrasonic sensor systems (USS) and interfaces with multiple stakeholders to understand requirements, domain, viable technology, and development activities for automotive ECU development projects. Tasks include, but are not limited to, front-end communications with customers regarding requirements and solutions, analysis and definition of system design alternatives, and daily technical guidance of engineering activities within the team. The System Requirements Engineer is responsible for defining and managing component-level requirements, coordinating cross-functional teams, and architecting both physical and functional aspects of the USS. The system requirement engineer is also aware of safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
JOB FUNCTIONS

Leads system/product requirements specifications activities for USS systems.

Performs analysis for stakeholder requirements, prepares the compliance matrix and the exceptions and assumptions record, and obtains and manages customer clarifications.

Works on the signal processing and Acoustics, System modes and transitions, Diagnostic strategies and fault handling, Power moding and energy efficiency for USS systems

Develops the USS System architect to understand trace and implement the requirements

Decomposes customer, Safety and Security requirements into system requirements

Organizes and leads the review process of the system requirements
-
Adapts legal /regulatory/compliance/supplier requirements to the project

Implements the Requirements Plan (Metrics Concepts, Tracebility Concept, Document Structure, Requirements Structure etc)

Supports System Test to write System Test Cases

Supports the analysis of the change requests/defects from requirements point of view and provides effort estimates

Supports the Requirement Manager to assess the overall Change Request/Defect effort

Lead cross functional requirements reviews

Provides technical input to RFP/RFQ responses.

Works with Engineering Program Management to provide feasibility and planning information.

Provide technical advice for product/systems roadmap definition based on expert knowledge of ECU specific technologies and customer use cases.

Oversees and supports life cycle engineering activities using defined processes and standards.

Participates in internal and external technical reviews, as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
-
Bachelor s degree in Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent (Master s preferred)

3+ years relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) for automotive electronics serial development projects (mandatory).

Knowledge of product development engineering practices in automotive field

Requirements decomposition planning and reporting (KPI generation)

Test plan development and/or test execution planning

Track records of writing good requirements that can be successfully implemented.

Profound technical knowledge of automotive electronics products. Familiar with typical automotive OEM requirements. Can anticipate customer requirements, even if not stated in customer documentation.

Experienced in use of requirements management tools. Familiar with concepts such as baselining, inheritance etc.

Knowledge of software design flow, programming languages (especially C/C++) and libraries

Knowledge of analysis and engineering tools such as version control/configuration management

Expertise in using CAN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, neoVI, etc.

Experience with UML or SysML

Working knowledge of IS026262, hazard, SAE J2464, IEC, NEC, ISO 20G53, and two-level fault strategies.
