Job Description

As a Senior System Administrator at our organization, you will be an integral part of our dynamic IT team. Your role will involve overseeing and managing enterprise systems and infrastructure, ensuring their optimal performance and security while also mentoring and guiding junior administrators. Your responsibilities will include system administration and support, where you will manage servers, networks, storage, and virtualization environments. You will be responsible for creating user accounts, troubleshooting complex system issues, and ensuring the proper functioning of operating systems and applications. In addition, you will lead system upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Network and security management will also be a key aspect of your role, where you will maintain network configurations, firewalls, routers, and switches, while also monitoring network performance and ensuring secure connections. Asset inventory management will be another crucial responsibility, involving the tracking and lifecycle maintenance of IT hardware and software assets. You will conduct regular audits to ensure accurate asset records and perform reconciliations between physical assets and system records. Managing backups, disaster recovery procedures, and conducting regular tests will be part of your role to ensure the integrity of system data and continuity of operations in case of system failure. Collaboration with IT and business teams, mentoring junior staff, and reviewing internal processes for efficiency will also be important aspects of your role. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, policies, asset inventories, and procedures, as well as preparing reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions. Vendor management will involve liaising with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure SLAs and contracts are maintained. To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in system administration or IT support, along with proven expertise in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms. Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, basic understanding of firewalls and cloud platforms, and expertise in system monitoring tools are essential technical skills required. Moreover, strong problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, excellent communication skills, and a team-player mentality are important soft skills needed to excel in this role.
