System Administrator

As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux servers and workstations such as Ubuntu, CentOS, and Debian. Your primary focus will be on Linux Systems Administration, including installing, configuring, and monitoring system performance to troubleshoot issues and optimize resources. You will also handle user access, permissions, and security policies, ensuring the overall security of the Linux environment. In addition to Linux administration, you will provide Level 1/2 technical support for Windows and macOS, addressing software, hardware, and network issues. This includes deploying updates, patches, and security compliance measures, as well as integrating Windows and macOS devices with Linux systems for seamless file sharing and authentication. Networking and security tasks will also be within your purview, involving the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. You will manage DNS, DHCP, and network monitoring tools while implementing security measures like firewalls, intrusion detection, and audits to safeguard the network infrastructure. Furthermore, you will be responsible for automating repetitive tasks using Bash/Python scripting, managing Git repositories, Docker containers, and ensuring data backup and recovery strategies are designed and tested for data integrity and rapid disaster recovery. Your role will also involve maintaining system documentation, IT policies, and procedures, as well as resolving employee IT issues through helpdesk tickets, email, or in-person support. To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Linux administration with proficiency in command-line operations. Additionally, familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and knowledge of tools like Git, Docker, and virtualization is required. Scripting skills in Bash/Python for automation tasks are essential, and certifications like RHCSA, CompTIA Linux+, Microsoft, or Apple would be advantageous.,
