Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement applications using

  Synon/2E (CA 2E)

  on the AS/400 platform.
• Maintain and enhance existing RPG/Synon applications based on user and business requirements.
  
• Collaborate with business analysts and end users to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  
• Perform impact analysis, effort estimation, and documentation for enhancements and bug fixes.
  
• Develop or modify

  CL programs

  ,

  DB2/400 database objects

  , and

  interactive/display files

  .
• Support system integration with

  JD Edwards World

  or other ERP platforms (if applicable).
• Participate in

  code reviews

  ,

  unit testing

  , and

  performance optimization

  .
• Provide production support, including troubleshooting and resolving application issues.
  
• Maintain technical documentation and adhere to coding standards and development methodologies.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of development experience with

  Synon/2E (CA 2E)

  .
• Strong understanding of

  IBM i / AS/400 environment

  , including

  RPG (RPG III/IV/ILE)

  and

  CL

  .
• Experience with

  DB2/400

  , physical and logical file creation, and query tools.
• Familiarity with job scheduling, spool files, and message queues on AS/400.
  
• Ability to analyze, debug, and troubleshoot complex legacy systems.
  
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
