Syngenta Role Profile Role Title : Applied Genetics Associate Location : Hyderabad About the Role: We are seeking a motivated Applied Genetics Associate to join our Seed Research and Development team. This position will support our plant breeding programs through genetic analysis, data management, and implementation of molecular breeding technologies. The candidate will work together with the germplasm development, applied genetics and data science teams to understand and interpret molecular data and effectively employ the internal tools to guide advancement decisions, genomic selections and identify marker-trait associations. Key Responsibilities: Support genetic improvement programs through data analysis and interpretation Assist in managing breeding databases and genetic data pipelines Contribute to molecular marker analysis and genomic selection projects Collaborate with breeders and field teams on trial designs and data collection Help implement and optimize breeding technologies and processes Participate in genetic gain assessment and breeding program evaluation Support quality control measures in genetic testing and seed production Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Genetics, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Biotechnology, or related field Understanding of quantitative genetics and breeding concepts Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (R, Python, or similar) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience with breeding management software and databases Knowledge of molecular markers and genomic selection methods Familiarity with agricultural field trials and experimental design Understanding of seed industry practices and regulations Experience with high-throughput genetic analysis techniques Organizational Skills: Accountability for decisions made within the scope of responsibility Highly proactive, autonomous, and goal oriented.
