Job Description

As a Sustaining Engineer at BMC, you will be part of a new engineering team dedicated to supporting product R&D and patch development efforts. Your role will involve addressing critical issues in software, collaborating with global teams, and ensuring product reliability and exceptional value for customers. Your primary responsibilities will include developing, testing, and implementing diagnostic tools to enhance product performance, contributing to patch development cycles, and taking ownership of technical tasks to drive them to completion efficiently. You will also be expected to continuously learn, share knowledge, and work cross-functionally to ensure software quality meets customer expectations. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position. Proficiency in C++, familiarity with Linux and Windows OS, and a deep understanding of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle are essential. Additionally, you should be a problem-solver, able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and collaboration skills. While experience with Java, messaging systems like Kafka, or working in an enterprise product-based company is beneficial, our team is committed to helping you develop these skills.
