Survey Engineer

As a Survey Engineer, your role involves collecting and analyzing data to determine the most suitable location, alignment, and design for a road or highway. You will utilize specialized equipment like GPS, Total Stations, and laser scanners to measure distances, angles, and elevations, ensuring the road is stable, efficient, and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities: - Conducting surveys: Perform reconnaissance, field traverses, and detailed surveys to collect data on terrain, topography, and existing features. - Data analysis: Analyze collected data to determine property lines, natural resources, and other essential land measurements. - Route selection: Use the data to help select the most feasible and cost-effective route for a new or upgraded highway. - Equipment operation: Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment, such as Total Stations, GPS, and laser scanners, to gather precise measurements. - Data processing: Process raw data to create accurate maps, 3D models, and reports for engineers and designers. - Ensuring compliance: Collaborate with other professionals to ensure the survey meets the required standards and legal requirements. - Monitoring construction: Provide ongoing surveying support during the construction phase, which can include leveling the road. Qualifications Required: - Mathematics: Thorough knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and basic calculus is essential. - Technical skills: Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software, such as GPS, Total Stations, and GIS tools. - Understanding of laws: Knowledge of laws related to surveys, real property, and contracts. - Communication: The ability to work effectively with construction teams, architects, and other stakeholders. - Problem-solving: The ability to identify and solve problems related to data collection and land measurement.
