Job Description

As a Supply Chain Planner at Cummins Inc., your role involves determining the quantity and order date for materials required to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand. You will be responsible for expediting purchase or production orders as necessary to ensure timely delivery. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)** - Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard. - Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations. - Engage in HSE training. - **Quality** - Follow applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures. - Perform quality checks on material planning master data and take necessary actions to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP). - Work with Quality to disposition non-conforming material promptly. - **Delivery** - Initiate purchase and work orders to support the demand plan. - Collaborate with suppliers to reduce lead time and order quantities. - Provide accurate updates on inventory availability and back order recovery plans. - Manage part change requests and ramp-up/ramp-down activities. - Support the Deliver Supplier Improvement Process initiative. - **Teamwork** - Communicate effectively within the team and with support teams. - Participate in improvement projects. **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent experience. - May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Competencies:** - Communicates effectively - Customer focus - Drives results - Manages complexity - Optimizes work processes - Materials Planning System Utilization - Part Change Control Management - Plan for Every Part (PFEP) - Master Supply Scheduling - Materials KPI Management - Values differences **Skills & Experience:** - Following up with suppliers for on-time part availability - Coordination with suppliers and cross-functional teams - Providing feedback for critical shortages - Managing inventory for high-value parts - Attending daily shortage meetings - Contributing to projects - Planning supplier visits - Conducting supplier performance reviews This role requires some work experience and intermediate-level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
