Overview:

The Substitute Teacher plays a vital role in maintaining continuity in the educational environment when regular teachers are absent. This position involves implementing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a positive learning atmosphere for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classroom Management: Maintain a productive learning environment by establishing and enforcing classroom rules and procedures.
• Lesson Implementation: Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity in instruction.
• Student Engagement: Facilitate student participation and engagement in lessons and activities.
• Assessment: Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to students as needed.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding classroom activities and student behavior.
• Adaptability: Be prepared to adjust lessons and activities based on student needs and classroom dynamics.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred; valid teaching certification/license is a plus.
• Experience: Prior teaching or classroom experience is beneficial.
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work in various classrooms and adapt to different teaching styles and subjects.

Working Conditions:

• Work may be required in various school settings (elementary, middle, or high school).
• Position may involve standing for extended periods, moving between classrooms, and interacting with students of diverse backgrounds.
