Subject Matter Expert - Fashion Designer (Content Writer) -

We are seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) from the Fashion Design industry to develop high-quality skill development content aligned with industry requirements and vocational education frameworks. The SME will be responsible for creating structured, outcome-based learning materials that support practical skill acquisition for learners in the fashion design domain.

Role & responsibilities

evelop detailed curriculum content, session plans, learner handbooks, and assessment materials for skill development programs in Fashion Design.

• Create content for

  planning and preparing seasonal garment design collections

  , including concept development, trend analysis, color palettes, fabric selection, and design briefs.
• Develop instructional content for

  proto sample development and fit samples

  , covering pattern interpretation, sample construction, fitting procedures, and revisions.
• Prepare learning modules to

  evaluate proto samples

  for specific product classes, focusing on quality parameters, fit standards, functionality, and aesthetic evaluation.
• Develop content related to

  health, safety, and security practices

  in the fashion designing department, including workplace safety, ergonomics, equipment handling, and compliance norms.
• Create modules addressing

  industry, regulatory, and organizational compliance

  , including quality standards, sustainability practices, workplace ethics, and documentation requirements.
• Ensure all content is aligned with

  NSQF, SSC guidelines, and industry best practices

• Collaborate with instructional designers and content developers to ensure learner-friendly language, logical flow, and practical relevance.
• Review, validate, and update content to ensure technical accuracy and current industry relevance.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Strong hands-on experience in fashion design, garment development, or apparel production.
• In-depth knowledge of garment design processes, proto sampling, fit evaluation, and product classification.
• Understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards within apparel and fashion environments.
• Ability to translate practical industry knowledge into structured, learner-centric content.
• Familiarity with skill development frameworks, vocational training, or competency-based education is an advantage.
