Job Description

Job Purpose

To support the social, emotional, behavioural, and academic wellbeing of students by providing counselling services, preventive programs, and guidance interventions, while collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support & Counselling

Provide individual and group counselling to students for emotional, behavioural, social, and academic concerns.

Identify students at risk and implement early intervention strategies.

Support students with stress, anxiety, peer issues, bullying, self-esteem, and adjustment challenges.

Maintain confidential counselling records in line with school policies and ethical standards.

Preventive & Developmental Programs

Design and conduct life-skills, mental health awareness, and wellbeing sessions.

Conduct classroom workshops on topics such as emotional regulation, study skills, career awareness, and digital safety.

Support transition programs (new admissions, grade transitions, board exam stress management).

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with teachers to identify student concerns and suggest classroom strategies.

Conduct parent counselling and guidance meetings when required.

Coordinate with special educators, external therapists, or child specialists as needed.

Participate in student support meetings, case conferences, and school wellbeing committees.

Behaviour Management & Safeguarding

Assist in behaviour intervention plans and restorative practices.

Support the school’s child protection and safeguarding policies.

Report and manage sensitive cases responsibly, following legal and ethical guidelines.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate reports, case notes, and follow-up records.

Prepare periodic wellbeing reports for school leadership.

Ensure compliance with board requirements and school policies.

Qualifications & Experience

Master’s Degree in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Applied Psychology (preferred).

Certification or training in Child & Adolescent Counselling preferred.

Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a school counsellor or child psychologist (preferred).

Experience in a school environment is an advantage.

Working Hours-School hours with flexibility for parent meetings, workshops, or student support sessions as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
