Job Title: Structural & Fluid Dynamics Engineer Steel Industry Location: Pune (India) /Indianapolis (US) Job Type: Full-Time Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Structural & Fluid Dynamics Engineer to design and optimize robust structural components and complex fluid dynamic systems for the steel industry. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced 3D modeling software and CFD tools to develop innovative solutions for equipment design, water/gas flow systems, and off-gas management. This role includes the opportunity for training in the U.S. to enhance technical expertise and industry knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Design and analyze structural components for heavy industrial applications, ensuring compliance with ASME, AISC, and API standards. Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN for structural integrity and thermal stress evaluations. Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations with Fluent, CFX, or OpenFOAM to optimize gas and water flow in industrial equipment. Develop mass and energy balance analyses for off-gas systems, identifying efficiency improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. Troubleshoot fluid flow inefficiencies, pressure drops, and heat dissipation challenges in industrial piping and exhaust systems. Conduct reverse engineering for existing equipment, implementing design improvements based on performance data. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's or Masters in Mechanical, Thermal, or Aerospace Engineering. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in designing industrial structural and fluid systems. Expertise in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Inventor). Hands-on experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and CFD analysis (Fluent, CFX, OpenFOAM). Strong understanding of ASME BPVC, API 650/620, and AISC steel structure standards. Experience with heat recovery, off-gas treatment, and industrial fluid dynamics. Knowledge of fabrication, welding techniques, and metal forming processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Willingness to travel internationally for training and project collaboration. Preferred Certifications: ASME BPVC Certification (Section VIII) for pressure vessel design. API 650/620 Certification for storage tank design. Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or AutoCAD Certification. FEA/CFD Professional Certification. AWS Welding Certification (D1.1, Section IX).
