About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our VRU (Vapor Recovery Unit) Engineering team.
The designation for this role is currently under review and open for discussion, and will be finalized based on the selected candidate s profile, experience, and potential.
The selected candidate will report directly to Zeeco s Global VRU Group and support international projects across multiple regions. Approximately 80% of the workload will be dedicated to international projects, with 20% focused on domestic assignments. This position involves active collaboration and communication with global stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, and operations teams across Zeeco s international offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Engineering
- Execute the detailed design and engineering of static equipment , including but not limited to:
- Towers, columns, heat exchangers, separators, and atmospheric/pressurized storage tanks
- Drawing and Documentation Preparation
- Develop high-quality General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) , fabrication drawings, and detailed component schematics
- Support project execution through well-defined piping layouts , isometric drawings , and piping class definitions
- Layout and Planning
- Create accurate plot plans and equipment layouts , ensuring compliance with space, process, and accessibility requirements
- Engineering Deliverables
- Prepare and deliver critical project documents such as:
- Material take-offs , technical specifications , RFQs , engineering data sheets , and design reports
- Conduct thorough evaluations of vendor proposals and ensure alignment with project goals
- Compliance and Standards
- Ensure strict adherence to international engineering codes and standards, including:
- ASME Section VIII Div-1 , TEMA , ASME B31.3 , API , and ASTM standards
- Structural Component Design
- Design and engineer equipment skids , pipe racks , pipe supports , and associated structural elements
- Analysis and Validation
- Perform pressure vessel modeling , stress analysis , and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity, safety, and performance
- Interpret analysis results and apply engineering judgment for robust and reliable designs
- Global Collaboration and Reviews
- Actively participate in multi-disciplinary global design reviews and technical discussions with internal and international teams
- Provide engineering support throughout project life cycles, from concept to commissioning
- Technical Best Practices
- Apply appropriate code interpretations , material selection criteria , and industry best practices to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant designs
- Team Collaboration
- Work in close coordination with Zeeco s U.S.-based engineering team and international colleagues, ensuring smooth information flow and alignment across project teams

- STAAD.Pro , CAESAR II (Structural and piping stress analysis)
- AutoCAD (2D & 3D) , Navisworks , SmartPlant Review (3D modeling, visualization, and review)
- NozzlePro (Localized stress analysis and nozzle evaluations)
Key Competencies
- Technical Expertise :
- In-depth knowledge of static equipment design , engineering principles, and fabrication methodologies
- Regulatory & Code Proficiency :
- Strong familiarity with global standards and codes applicable to mechanical design, manufacturing, and inspection
- Problem-Solving Ability :
- Sharp analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot design challenges and optimize engineering solutions

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly for cross-border coordination and global stakeholder interaction
