Job Description

Databases and event logs are complementary infrastructure in modern software architecture. You will be a core member of the engineering team, enhancing and optimizing Pulsar to work with Cassandra in DataStax’s Astra cloud service. You will be highly involved in the design, implementation, and operation of solutions to solve problems for the world’s leading enterprises as we scale up and deliver an amazing developer experience.What you will do:Author, debug, and improve code in the core of Apache PulsarContribute to open-source and proprietary projects that interface with PulsarAid production support teams debugging and root causing user-facing issuesWork in a fast-moving environment to rapidly prototype, iterate and evolve solutions for real-world developer needPerform regular code reviews among peers Required education Bachelor's Degree Preferred education Master's Degree Required technical and professional expertise 4-6 Years of relevant experienceSystems level proficiency in Java or another popular language.Experience working on large scale distributed systemsExperience with multi-threaded programming and concurrency primitives.Knowledge of distributed data stores (NoSQL systems) to achieve massive scalability and availability of the data made available by your data pipelines.Familiarity with bug tracking tools, version control tools, build automation tools and test automation tools.Experience in SDLC having contributed at each stepPlan, Track, Code, Build, Test, Deploy and Monitor. Preferred technical and professional experience Experience with Apache Pulsar or Kafka is a plus.Experience with Apache Cassandra is a plus.
