Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inbound Material Management

  • Supervise unloading of liquid and solid raw materials including QA/QC verification.
  • Ensure all tankers and consignments are accompanied by proper documentation (COA, seal verification, tank cleaning certificate, etc.).
  • Coordinate timely offloading and rejection handling in case of documentation or quality issues.
  • Escort incoming materials as per safety and compliance protocols.

2. Inventory Control & System Transactions

  • Ensure real-time entry of all receipts, issues, and consumptions in SAP.
  • Generate and upload GRNs with supporting documentation daily.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical stock and SAP records.
  • Conduct daily DIP readings of liquid tanks and maintain accurate records.

3. Material Issuance to Production

  • Coordinate issuance of RM/PM to respective plants and blending areas as per requisition slips.
  • Supervise bulk and small quantity transfers (e.g., loose materials, LM project inputs).
  • Manage weighing, repacking, and transfer from tanks to drums/IBCs where applicable.

4. Inventory Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and control stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
  • Monitor movement of slow, non-moving, and obsolete materials.
  • Prepare and submit monthly inventory reports to the Head Office Finance team.
  • Conduct biweekly reporting of shelf life expired or near-expiry materials, and coordinate for revalidation or disposal.

5. Job Work Material Management

  • Handle RM/PM dispatch and receipt from job work locations.
  • Maintain proper GRNs and consumption entries in the system for job worker activities.
  • Follow up on Annexure tracking and reconciliation regularly.

6. Audit & Compliance

  • Ensure warehouse is maintained audit-ready at all times (cleanliness, documentation, material segregation).
  • Support internal, external, and customer audits with necessary data and responses.
  • Ensure adherence to EHS guidelines for hazardous and flammable materials.

7. Team & Process Management

  • Supervise warehouse personnel and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety norms.
  • Ensure materials are stored systematically by location and labelled properly.
  • Address infrastructure limitations and propose improvements for better material handling and storage efficiency.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of chemical RM/PM storage and handling.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (MM Module) and Excel reporting.
  • Attention to detail and a disciplined approach to inventory control.
  • Good coordination with QA/QC, Production, Purchase & R&D teams.
  • Understanding of audit compliance and documentation standards.
  • Leadership capability to manage warehouse operations and team.

Experience:

  • 10 to 15 years

    of hands-on experience in

    stores, inventory control, and materials management

    within the

    chemical or process manufacturing industry

    .
  • Proven track record of managing warehouse operations, job work material handling, and SAP-based inventory systems.
