Job Description

  • Team Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the stewarding team, including dishwashers and other kitchen support staff
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and machinery are properly cleaned, maintained, and in good working condition
  • Sanitation and Hygiene: Enforce strict sanitation and hygiene practices in the kitchen and food service areas to comply with health and safety regulations
  • Cleaning Schedules: Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure that all areas, including kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas, are cleaned regularly
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, detergents, and chemicals used in the stewarding department
  • Waste Management: Oversee proper waste disposal procedures and recycling efforts in the kitchen and food service areas
  • Training: Provide training to stewarding staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and efficient workflow
