Steel Casting Welder

About the Role

We are seeking a5 years of experience highly skilled Welding Technician / Welding Inspector with strong expertise in steel casting welding processes and non-destructive testing (NDT). The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in MPI, UT, RT, and Visual Welding Inspection, ensuring high-quality and defect-free welding operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform steel casting welding as per industry and safety standards.
• Conduct Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) for surface and near-surface defect detection.
• Perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Radiographic Testing (RT) for internal defect identification.
• Carry out thorough Visual Welding Inspection before, during, and after welding.
• Interpret NDT reports and provide corrective recommendations.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper calibration of testing tools.
• Follow welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Prepare documentation, inspection reports, and maintain quality records.
• Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and engineering teams.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in steel casting welding and NDT inspection.
• Strong knowledge in MPI, UT, RT, and Visual Inspection methods.
• Certification in NDT Level II (MPI/UT/RT) is an added advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience working with heavy steel castings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI in Welding, Mechanical, Metallurgy or related field.
• Experience in foundry or casting industry.
