Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack

Role & responsibilities

• Providing technical leadership and hands-on development for our single page applications used by our clients and our financial planners in Typescript and React as well as our backend services in Java
• Designing and developing the infrastructure as code for lambda functions, their associated data stores and any required connected services using AWS CloudFormation
• Leading epics from idea to implementation including work estimation, collaboration with our product team, development, testing, code review and deployment
• Coaching and mentoring engineers on the squad through code reviews, pair programming, interactive design sessions and team retrospectives
• Interviewing and recruiting engineers to strengthen the team

Preferred candidate profile

• 5-10 years software development experience including experience developing web applications using React, Angular or similar Javascript-based frameworks
• Experience developing APIs in Java, Javascript using node, or other similar technologies
• AWS cloud experience is highly preferable
• Experience working in an agile environment such as SCRUM or Kanban is a plus
• Familiarity in using AI-powered tools for software development, such as GitHub Copilot, for tasks including code review, writing unit tests, and code generation
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
