Staff Software Engineer

Role Overview: You will be working at Agoda, an online travel booking platform connecting travelers with a global network of accommodations, flights, and more. As a developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing APIs that handle millions of user search requests daily. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development of features, experiments, technical projects, and complex systems - Act as a technical architect, mentor, and drive towards the right technology - Evolve the architecture and build better software - Contribute significantly to agile and scrum practices - Collaborate with server, client, and infrastructure teams to create optimal solutions - Continuously seek ways to enhance products, code-base, and development practices - Write high-quality code and assist others in doing the same - Make technical decisions within the organization Qualifications Required: - 7+ years of experience in developing performance-critical applications using Scala, Java, or C# - Experience in leading projects, initiatives, and teams with full ownership of the systems involved - Familiarity with data platforms such as SQL, Cassandra, or Hadoop - Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures - Proficient coding skills - Passion for software development and a commitment to enhancing knowledge and skills - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills Additional Company Details: Agoda, based in Asia and part of Booking Holdings, boasts a diverse team of 7,100+ employees from 95+ nationalities across 27 markets.
