Staff Research Scientist - Network Security

As a Staff Research Scientist at Trellix, you will be instrumental in building and expanding Trellix Network Detection and Response. Your passion for solving real problems through cutting-edge research will drive the development of operational production solutions to tackle emerging challenges in networking. Key Responsibilities: - Research attacker methodologies and develop innovative solutions for detection - Apply machine learning techniques to networking problems - Conduct data analysis to measure efficacy and enhance existing solutions - Drive the development of leading-edge prototypes to address emerging challenges - Utilize threat intelligence to identify attack patterns and origins - Develop roadmap for enhancing detection efficacy and network research operations Qualifications Required: - 8 to 14 years of experience with at least 3 years in network-based threats and cyber attacks - Strong understanding of networking protocols and network architecture - Proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, or Java - Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - Hands-on experience in reverse engineering and operating system internals - Red teaming experience with various techniques - Background in machine learning In addition to the above qualifications, we value individuals with the right passion and attitude to tackle new challenges.
