* Ensure adequate supply of equipment, medicine etc.
* Receiving nursing report from staff nurses and preparing a report for the ward.
* Records orders for the treatment of the patients.
* Maintains stock of drugs and all other articles in the wards.
* Responsible for the safety of drugs.
* Keeps informed the Senior Staff Nurse of any incident of importance.
* Maintain correct statistics, e.g. discharge, admission, etc.
* Holds meetings with the staff nurses to discuss problems.
* Counsels the Junior Staff Nurses as and when required.
* Carrying on the duties assigned by the Senior Staff Nurse.
* Is aware of knowledge of the patient regarding their conditions and need for nursing care.
* Ensure good nursing care.
* Ensures standards of care
* Takes ward rounds with the heads of department
* Keeps the Nursing Superintendent and Senior Staff Nurse informed about any change in routine activities.
* Establishes good liaison with patients and ensures adequate information to them and their relations.
