Key Responsibilities

  1. Patient Care

    • Provide direct nursing care to patients including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
    • Administer medications, injections & intravenous drips as prescribed.
    • Monitor and record vital signs (pulse, temperature, respiration, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, etc.).
    • Assist patients with daily living activities (bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.) as necessary.
    • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, infection control in wards, ICU, OT, postop areas.
  2. Clinical Procedures

    • Assist in admission, transfer & discharge of patients.
    • Prepare patients for surgery, diagnostic procedures; assist during surgical / clinical procedures as needed.
    • Wound dressing, catheterisation, specimen collection, etc.
    • Respond to emergencies on the ward (code blue, trauma, etc.) following hospital protocols.
  3. Communication & Documentation

    • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient status, care given, and any changes in condition.
    • Report to doctors any changes in patient condition, adverse reactions, or emergencies immediately.
    • Communicate with patients and families; educate about care, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  4. Shift & Work Management

    • Work in rotating shifts (morning, evening, night) including weekends / holidays as per hospital roster.
    • Handover duties properly between shifts.
  5. Teamwork & Professionalism

    • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals: doctors, technicians, other nursing staff, etc.
    • Help mentor junior nurses or trainees (if applicable).
    • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  6. Quality & Safety

    • Practice infection control, safe handling of sharps, waste disposal etc.
    • Follow protocols for patient safety, including fall prevention, medication safety.
    • Participate in continuous education / training programs and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational qualification

    : • Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) from a recognized / accredited institution. • Registered with the relevant Nursing Council (e.g., J&K Nursing Council or equivalent).
  • Experience

    : • 010 years of nursing experience. Freshers are welcome. Preferable experience in wards / ICU / postoperative / emergency settings.
  • Essential Skills

    : • Good clinical skills (medication administration, IV, vital monitoring etc.). • Ability to work under pressure, handle emergencies. • Ability to read/write clinical documentation clearly. • Empathy, patience, compassion, teamwork.
  • Desirable Skills

    : • Knowledge of ICU / OT procedures. • Prior experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. • Additional training / certification (e.g., Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support etc.).

Salary & Benefits (Indicative)
