Job Summary:

A Staff Nurse in an Operating Theatre (OT) is responsible for providing comprehensive care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures. Their duties include preparing the operating room, assisting the surgical team, monitoring patients' vital signs, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Specific Roles and Responsibilities of an OT Staff Nurse:Pre-operative:

• Preparing the OT: Setting up the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Sterilizing equipment: Ensuring all instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Patient preparation: Assisting with patient transfer, positioning, and skin preparation.
• Assisting with anesthesia: Ensuring the anesthesia machine and related supplies are ready and functioning.
• Confirming patient identity and procedure: Verifying patient details and surgical site based on consent forms.

Intra-operative:

• Assisting the surgical team:Providing instruments, supplies, and other assistance to surgeons and other surgical team members.
• Monitoring patient status:Observing and recording vital signs, administering medications as prescribed, and responding to any changes in the patient's condition.
• Maintaining a sterile field:Ensuring aseptic technique is maintained throughout the procedure.
• Documentation:Accurately recording all relevant information about the surgery, including medications, counts of instruments and supplies, and any complications.

Post-operative:

• Patient transfer: Assisting with the safe transfer of the patient to the recovery room.
• Post-operative care: Monitoring the patient for any complications related to surgery or anesthesia, such as bleeding, infection, or respiratory distress.
• Documentation: Completing all necessary documentation related to the post-operative care.
• Room turnover: Assisting with cleaning and restocking the operating room for the next procedure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
