Staff Nurse (NICU)

As a NICU Nurse at our facility in Chandigarh, your primary responsibility will be to assist with the functioning of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) while adhering to Nursing Clinical standards. You will be expected to be well-oriented to the NICU routine, equipment, and the specific needs of neonates in our care. Your duties will include providing nursing care during outstation Neonate Retrieval by Ambulance, completing the Nursing Assessment Guide promptly upon neonate admission, ensuring the comfort and safety of neonates, and updating parents on their neonate's condition regularly. You will collaborate with doctors, prepare nursing care plans, administer medications, and monitor neonates on incubators and ventilators. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting doctors in special procedures such as Venopuncture, Endotracheal intubation, and catheterization, as well as coordinating blood transfusions when necessary. Your role will also involve completing preoperative checklists, maintaining accurate medical records, and providing health education to parents on neonatal care. To excel in this role, you must have a GNM/B.Sc (Nursing) qualification with 1-5 years of experience in NICU care. Knowledge of gestational age assessment, NALS & NRP training, and familiarity with infection control protocols are essential. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to neonatal safety and well-being will be crucial for success in this position.
