Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment

    :
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients physical and emotional health.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Care Delivery

    :
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring proper dosages and techniques.
  • Patient Education

    :
  • Educate patients and their families about health management, medication use, and post-discharge care.
  • Provide information on disease prevention and health promotion.
  • Documentation

    :
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including care provided and patient responses.
  • Document any changes in patients conditions and communicate these to the relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Collaboration

    :
  • Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other nursing staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans.
  • Emergency Care

    :
  • Respond to medical emergencies, providing immediate care and support as needed.
  • Participate in emergency drills and training to ensure readiness.
  • Wound Care

    :
  • Perform wound assessments and management, including dressing changes and infection control.
  • Inventory Management

    :
  • Assist in maintaining medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Professional Development

    :
  • Engage in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in nursing.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education

    : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc) or DGNM.
  • Licensure

    : Valid nursing license in Tamil Nadu.
  • Experience

    : Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Skills

    : Strong clinical skills, effective communication, empathy, and teamwork.
