A Brief About The Role
As Staff Enterprise Technology Engineer you will be responsible for building, maintaining and troubleshooting the software solutions, infrastructure and services that powers technology platforms. In this role, you will work with a team of engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the digital solutions are highly available, scalable, and secure and will be responsible for automating routine tasks, improving the solution's performance, and providing technical support to other teams.What you will deliver
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of large-scale, cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Creating automated solutions to improve operational aspects of the site.
- Ensure that applications and websites run smoothly and efficiently.
- Detect issues and automatically managing failures to keep systems up and running.
- Work with software developers, engineers, and operations teams to improve system performance.
- Analyse incidents (Root Cause Analysis) to prevent future disruptions.
What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)
Technical Skills We Need From You
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Master in handling and resolving incidents, including root cause analysis and post-mortem processes.
- Master in managing and operating large-scale systems and services.
- Master in optimizing system performance and capacity planning.
- Master in managing configurations, deployments, and monitoring with precision
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with development and operations teams.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and think critically.
- Good understanding of Computer networks, Cloud infrastructure
- Define, manage, and track adherence to SLO, SLA, MTTR metrics
Software Skills
- Master knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, including system configuration, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with cloud services like AWS or Azure.
- Extended experience in cross functional collaboration
- Master knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging systems (e.g., ELK stack).
- Vendor management / stakeholder management across teams and across time zones / geographies
- Non-internship professional software development experience
- Master's in writing secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects
- Master's in software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operations
- Master in building complex software systems end-to-end which have been optimally delivered and operated in production. You should understand security and privacy best practices as well as how to properly monitor, log, and alarm production systems
Infrastructure Skills
- Master in building and scaling infrastructure services using Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
- Master in the understanding of using core cloud application infrastructure services including identity platforms, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless
- Master in troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
- Experience in application development and support environments with more than one technology and multiple design techniques. You'll have supported these production systems through on-call rotations
Database Skills
- Competent knowledge of databases, such as relational, graph, document, and key-value
- Master ability in data modeling and database design
- Master ability in SQL
