Job Description

Role Overview: As a Staff Engineer-Mechanical Thermal at Black & Veatch, you will function as a technical specialist or in a lead role. You will apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision, continuing to build on your knowledge to develop concepts and approach more complex engineering problems. You may provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. Additionally, you may be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output. Key Responsibilities: - Continuously develop knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies. Offer technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines. - Independently apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks. Ensure compliance with B&V quality program and provide related guidance and direction to others. Support continuous improvement and change management efforts. - Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work. Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Actively delegate appropriate tasks to lower-level team members to develop depth of project execution staff. Review lower-level engineering work or assignments. Lead production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activity, and serve as the responsible charge for a project. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in your home country or the country in which you are practicing. - Minimum of 5 years related work experience. - Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
