Staff Engineer- Core Infra

Were looking for a highly skilled and forward-thinking Staff Engineer to help architect and scale the backbone of Eightfolds platform If you thrive in high-scale environments, love tackling complex infrastructure problems, and enjoy mentoring and collaborating across teams, youll thrive here In this role, youll drive the design of foundational systems across our stack, influencing everything from search and ML infrastructure to developer platforms and observability This is a high-impact, hands-on role for engineers who want to build what the rest of the company builds on What Youll Own & Drive: Architect scalable, resilient systems across search, compute, storage, and ML infrastructure to support Eightfolds AI-powered products Lead cross-functional technical initiatives working closely with Product, Security, Data, and Platform teams to ensure alignment with company goals Contribute hands-on to system design, code, reviews, and incident response Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical excellence and supporting their growth into future leadership Champion engineering best practices across system design, cloud architecture, CI/CD, security, and observability Own complex problem-solving, especially around reliability, scale, and infrastructure performance Stay ahead of the curve, bringing emerging technologies and scalable design patterns into our architecture What You Bring: 10+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering with deep expertise in building distributed, cloud-native systems Proven success designing and delivering reliable, high-scale services (ideally in AWS, GCP, or Azure environments) Strong knowledge of containerization, orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code Experience in one or more of the following domains: search infrastructure, application infrastructure, developer tooling, ML/AI infrastructure, databases/data warehouses, or platform security Passion for mentoring and technical leadership able to level up peers and influence without formal authority Solid communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable translating deep tech into strategic impact (Bonus) Experience with SRE principles, cloud security, and supporting enterprise/government compliance requirements Eightfold Engineering Values: We are a team of self-starters who excel in our fields We believe in giving you responsibility, not a task We want you to have ownership and pride in the work you are doing, and see the positive impact of your work on your colleagues, our customers, and people around the world We have a mindset of continuously improving There is no detail that is beneath us, and we can dive into anything needed We focus on executing fast and delivering value to our customers every single day We believe in providing transparency and support, so you can do the best work of your career
