Job Title – Staff Cook

Summary

The Staff Cook will be responsible for preparing daily meals for the restaurant’s staff, ensuring quality, taste, and consistency in every dish. The role requires experience in bulk cooking, particularly in regional Indian cuisine, with a strong understanding of flavours, hygiene, and time management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily staff meals in line with the menu and kitchen schedule.
• Plan and execute bulk cooking efficiently, ensuring minimal waste and timely service.
• Maintain consistency in taste, seasoning, and presentation of dishes.
• Support the kitchen team in receiving, storing, and managing ingredients for staff meals.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the staff kitchen at all times.
• Assist with daily mise en place and organisation of the cooking area.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols as per company standards.
• Report shortages, spoilage, or maintenance issues to the Head Cook or Kitchen Supervisor.
• Uphold discipline, teamwork, and a positive attitude within the kitchen environment.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in bulk cooking, preferably in an Indian or staff kitchen setup.
• Basic understanding of Indian regional cuisines and common spice blends.
• Ability to handle pressure and work efficiently during service hours.
• Familiarity with kitchen safety, equipment handling, and hygiene practices.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the standards of Gunpowder’s kitchen operations.
• Punctual, reliable, and respectful towards the team and workplace.

Reporting To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹14,200.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
