Role & responsibilities

• The SSRS Project Lead will oversee the design, development, and delivery of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) solutions across projects. This role requires strong technical depth in Microsoft SQL stack, excellent leadership ability, and a steady hand in managing reporting initiatives end-to-end. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on reporting expertise and the maturity to guide a team through tight timelines and changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership
• Lead end-to-end SSRS report development, including requirement gathering, design, dataset creation, deployment, and optimization.
• Architect scalable reporting solutions using SSRS, SQL Server, and related BI components.
• Review and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.
• Ensure consistent coding standards, performance tuning, and best practices across reporting deliverables.
• Collaborate with DBAs and application teams on data integrity, ETL pipelines, and report backend design.
• Project Management
• Drive project planning, task allocation, and delivery tracking for all reporting-related work.
• Ensure timely delivery of reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data extracts as per business needs.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders to validate requirements, clarify expectations, and manage changes.
• Prepare status reports, risk logs, and escalation notes for leadership.
• Maintain documentation for requirements, functional specs, technical specs, and deployment plans.
• Team & Stakeholder Management
• Guide and mentor a team of SSRS developers and SQL analysts.
• Conduct peer reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Act as the primary reporting point of contact for cross-functional teams and business owners.
• Set and enforce delivery discipline, quality standards, and release protocols.

• Required Skills & Experience :

• 6+ years of experience in SSRS development; 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• Strong command over SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, and performance tuning.
• Experience with SSIS, Power BI, or other reporting / BI tools is an added advantage.
• Proven ability to manage multiple reporting streams simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical details in business-friendly terms.
• Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or structured SDLC environments.
