SSE / Lead Frontend Engineer (React)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead for a team of web engineers and quality engineers to continually evolve our web authoring client
• Accountable for the overall architecture, development, implementation and quality of the web components in support of Parsables cloud platform
• Ensure that the stories in the backlog are broken down into the necessary technical tasks that address the acceptance criteria.
• Architect, develop, and maintain robust and scalable frontend applications using React, CSS3 and HTML5
• Collaborate with backend, mobile, QA engineers, product managers, and UX designers on the definition and implementation of new customer-facing features.
• Optimize application performance and ensure a seamless user experience across various devices and browsers
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in frontend development practices
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, conduct thorough testing, and ensure the reliability and security of frontend applications
• Collaborate across engineering teams to define and implement API (GraphQL / REST) specifications and integrate frontend components with backend services
• Coach and mentor team members within the delivery team on standards, processes and best practices associated with the delivery of new web platform capabilities
• Write secure, fast and maintainable code
• Ensure automated testing coverage reaches a high standard through partnership with dedicated quality engineering team members
• Participate in agile ceremonies as an active member of a delivery team
• Partner across delivery teams to remove impediments and drive delivery objectives
  

Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in building cross-browser, highly interactive, accessible, and responsive web and mobile applications using frontend web technologies such as React, Typescript, Node & Yarn.
• 2+ years experience as a technical lead on an enterprise web-based B2B platform
• 5+ years of professional experience working with React
• Demonstrated, hands-on mastery of JavaScript and TypeScript for the delivery of web applications using React
• You have previous experience on creating component libraries for a design system using Storybook
• Good working knowledge of Github monorepos and experience in using GitHub for CI/CD and publishing NPM packages
• Experienced in implementing and monitoring front end telemetry through DataDog RUM and other logging / telemetry solutions
• Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Design and WCAG
• Experienced in automated testing, including unit and end-to-end testing using the following tools: Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress
• Familiar with feature flagging practices using LaunchDarkly
• Excellent communication skills to represent highly technical concepts
