Role Overview: You will be responsible for database engineering and SQL Server administration with a focus on advanced configuration, tuning, and internals. Your expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including AlwaysOn, clustering, replication, and log shipping, will be crucial in ensuring the performance and optimization of the database systems. You will also be involved in backup/restore, disaster recovery planning, and failover testing to maintain the integrity of high-volume OLTP systems. Operating SQL Server in cloud environments, particularly in GCP, will be part of your responsibilities, along with a strong understanding of concurrency, locking, transactions, isolation levels, and recovery models. Key Responsibilities: - Database engineering and SQL Server administration - Advanced configuration, tuning, and internals of Microsoft SQL Server - Implementing and maintaining AlwaysOn, clustering, replication, and log shipping - Performance tuning and query optimization - Backup/restore, disaster recovery planning, and failover testing - Utilizing SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, and Query Store - Supporting high-volume OLTP systems - Operating SQL Server in cloud environments, particularly in GCP - Understanding concurrency, locking, transactions, isolation levels, and recovery models Qualifications Required: - 7-12+ years of experience in Database Engineering/SQL Server Administration - Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server - Experience with AlwaysOn, clustering, replication, log shipping - Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization - Knowledge of backup/restore, disaster recovery planning, failover testing - Familiarity with SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, Query Store - Experience in supporting high-volume OLTP systems - Experience operating SQL Server in cloud environments, preferably in GCP - Strong understanding of concurrency, locking, transactions, isolation levels, and recovery models,
