Configure and support Always On Availability Groups. Implement read replicas and comprehensive disaster recovery plans. Cloud Database Management Manage AWS RDS for SQL Server, including optimization and migrations. Configure cloud backups, patching, and monitoring. Ensure security, performance, and cost-effective operations in cloud environments. Security & Compliance Apply security policies, access controls, and authentication. Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance. Manage encryption of data at rest and in transit. What Youll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 8+ years of SQL Server DBA experience. Expertise in SQL Server (2016+), T-SQL, and PowerShell scripting. Proven experience with Ola Hallengren scripts, Always On, replication, and AWS RDS. Deep understanding of SQL internals, query execution plans, and performance optimization. Experience with tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, and third-party tools (Redgate, SentryOne, etc.). Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of working in fast-paced environments. Nice to Have: Microsoft SQL Server certifications (MCSA, MCSE, Azure). Participating in database schema design, applying normalization principles, defining relationships, and suggesting indexing for performance based on access patterns will also be part of your responsibilities. Your deep knowledge of transactions, locking, isolation levels, and deadlock resolution will be essential in implementing reliable and consistent transaction logic. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, views , and business logic using T-SQL. Analyze and optimize existing T-SQL code for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Conduct code reviews of legacy SQL components and implement performance improvements. Create and maintain optimized database schemas , with proficiency in normalization and denormalization techniques . Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of issues related to query performance, deadlocks, blocking, and long-running transactions . Utilize tools such as SQL Server Profiler, Execution Plans, Extended Events, DMVs, Query Analyzer, Enterprise Manager, Index Tuning Wizard, and Windows Performance Monitor for performance tuning and diagnostics. Collaborate with application teams to design efficient data access patterns and support scalable architectures. Ensure data security through proper user roles, permissions, encryption techniques, and secure development practices. Document database designs, stored procedures, and troubleshooting steps in a clear and standardized format. Stay current with the latest SQL Server features and best practices, recommending adoption where relevant. Develop and maintain error and event handling mechanisms, including precedence constraints, breakpoints, checkpoints, and logging. Experience working with data archival , job scheduling, and integration with legacy systems. Required Qualifications: Minimum 7 years of experience as a SQL Server Developer. Expert-level knowledge of T-SQL programming , stored procedures, and performance optimization. Strong understanding of SQL Server internals , including indexing strategies, transaction management, and execution plans. Proficient in performance analysis and tuning using Profiler, Execution Plans, Extended Events, and DMVs . Solid grasp of database security principles, including access control and encryption. Proven experience working with large and complex T-SQL codebases . Ability to write logical, efficient, and scalable SQL code . Comfortable working independently as well as part of cross-functional teams. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Experience working with Azure SQL Database or other cloud-based deployments.
