Job Description

Your Impact:

The Fortify Scan Central SAST(SC SAST) team is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer who will contribute to projects that aid in the aggregation, analysis, and visualization of source code vulnerabilities to secure applications.

What the role offers:

Develops product architectures and methodologies for software applications design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of software applications design and development innovation and excellence.

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor's or Masters degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
At least 6 years of experience in software development
Software application design
Strong knowledge of Java language and SQL
Hands-on experience with Java Spring framework, J2EE, Hibernate/JPA
Knowledge and understanding of REST-like APIs
Knowledge and understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, MicroServices
Knowledge and understanding of Git
Experience in maintaining builds, version control and CI/CD.
Experience in overall architecture of software applications (multi-platform).
Experience with exception and error handling
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge and experience of Agile development practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.

Hands-on experience with Tomcat
Evaluating and selecting tools and processes for software applications testing and methodology
History of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software design, preferred but not a requirement
Knowledge and understanding of Secure coding practices.
