Job Description

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer (Big Data Engineer) in the Location Program within the Data & Services group, you will play a crucial role in delivering engineering projects for analytics and BI solutions that utilize Mastercard dataset and proprietary analytics techniques to address significant business challenges worldwide. You will: - Work collaboratively in a support team to troubleshoot and resolve product-related issues effectively. - Apply problem-solving skills independently to identify symptoms and root causes of issues, making sound decisions even in ambiguous data situations. - Offer technical guidance, support, and mentorship to junior team members, actively contributing to improvement decisions and providing technology recommendations that align with business needs. - Understand stakeholder needs thoroughly to deliver results, ensuring the design thinking considers the long-term maintainability of code. - Embrace collaboration in an agile company environment, staying updated with the latest technologies through continuous learning initiatives. - Conduct system maintenance, manage production incidents, identify root causes, and implement issue remediation strategies. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant work experience, demonstrating a successful track record in handling complex technical assignments. - Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, web applications, and microservices-based software architecture, with experience in full-stack development, databases (Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server), and technologies like Hadoop, Python, Impala, etc. - Proficient in SQL with the ability to work with large and complex data sources, formulate and execute intricate queries. - Experience in Agile teams, familiarity with Agile/SAFe principles, strong analytical skills, adaptability to new technologies, methodologies, and systems. - Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with various technical teams and stakeholders. - High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive individual with the capability to perform well under pressure, exhibit a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and drive results in an independent work environment.,
