Job Description

In this role at Synchrony, you will be part of the Servicing team within Engineering, focusing on servicing operations by utilizing a range of SaaS solutions to enhance customer engagement, acquisition, and retention. Your responsibilities will include: - Define product requirements based on Synchrony's needs and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver new features and enhancements. - Perform routine maintenance, application health checks, configuration updates, and system tuning to optimize performance and reliability. Coordinate and execute production deployments and releases in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams. - Proactively monitor product performance, system logs, and transaction flows using specialized monitoring tools. Develop, maintain, and refine dashboards, alerts, and reports to anticipate and identify potential issues before they impact services. - Identify recurring issues, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application stability and support efficiency. - Track key metrics and report on product performance to leadership. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for application architecture, support procedures, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides. - Collaborate with merchants and partners to integrate BNPL solutions and optimize the customer journey. Serve as a key liaison between business operations, development, and infrastructure teams, providing clear and timely communication regarding system status, incidents, and planned changes. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. - Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Application Support, Maintenance, or Production Operations within the banking and financial services industry. Additionally, you should have expertise in: - Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting applications built on modern technology stacks (e.g., Java, cloud environments). - Solid experience with database querying (SQL/NoSQL) for data analysis and troubleshooting. - Proven, practical experience in configuring, querying, and deriving insights from enterprise-grade monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Splunk, New Relic, and/or Grafana. Preferred qualifications include experience with scripting languages for automation, familiarity with ITIL framework, knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS and containerization technologies, and relevant technical or domain certifications. Please note that the work timings for this role are from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST with flexibility based on global team meetings.
