Required Skillset:
- Experience required is 8+ years.
- Siemens TIA Portal: Proficient in TIA Portal Version 17 and above, with strong experience in development, diagnostics, and commissioning.
- WinCC SCADA: Solid understanding and hands-on experience with WinCC SCADA systems for process control and monitoring.
- Advanced HMI Programming: Expertise in HMI screen design and scripting, including dynamic content and user-defined controls.
- STL Programming (Expert Level): Ability to develop PLC code from scratch using Statement List (STL) language.
- Communication Protocols: Strong working knowledge of Profinet, Profibus, and AS-i communication standards.
- Diagnostic & Versioning Tools: Hands-on experience with Siemens Proneta for network diagnostics and version control and backup management
- Advanced PLC Techniques: Expert in pointers and indirect addressing within Siemens PLC platforms for flexible logic implementation.
- Scripting & Integration: Optional
- Proficient in XML programming for structured data handling and system integration will be preferred.
- Skilled in VB scripting for enhanced functionality in HMI and SCADA systems will be preferred.
- Safety PLC Programming: Experience in Siemens safety PLC programming, validation, and fault diagnostics.
- International Exposure: Prior experience working on international projects, with familiarity in global standards, coordination, and multicultural team environments will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of LLC software for large-scale systems using Siemens TIA Portal and the defined controls architecture.
- Guide cross-functional coordination, resolving complex technical challenges across disciplines.
- Define and implement validation strategies, and lead integration testing with SCADA, EM, and Safety Systems.
- Take full ownership of planning, effort estimation, and on-time delivery for the complete LLC workstream.
- Develop and apply advanced tools for diagnostics, simulation, and emulation to improve testing and commissioning efficiency.
- Actively support project leadership with risk mitigation strategies and system-level control solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement of products, processes, and tools, and contribute to platform architecture evolution.
- Represent the LLC engineering discipline during customer meetings, design reviews, and technical audits.
- Set and promote best practices across software delivery, documentation, and team development.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Independently draft comprehensive functional and detailed specifications for large and complex projects, based on customer requirements, the order file, and the defined VI controls architecture.
- Select optimal solutions using standardised modules and re-use of library blocks to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Apply and enforce engineering standards, development procedures, and quality guidelines.
- Realise complex controls applications and subsystems by building, configuring, programming, testing, and documenting them thoroughly.
- Design and develop new control modules to extend and strengthen the standard control libraries.
- Perform functional analyses, interpret user requirements, and translate them into reliable control system designs.
- Evaluate and align mechanical layouts for functional and controls compliance.
- Independently manage commissioning according to the plan, in coordination with site supervisors and project leaders.
- Ensure complete and high-quality Service Take Over (STO) documentation and deliverables.
- Provide technical advice to the Project Leader, Engineering and Project Manager regarding complex or multi-disciplinary issues.
- Report technical progress, deviations, and risk mitigation plans to the Project Leader, Engineering and Group Leader.
- Coordinate and mentor Controls Engineers within the project team, ensuring clarity of goals and deliverables.
- Maintain cost awareness and manage allocated budget for the LLC workstream.
- Apply a strong understanding of tools, standards, and methodologies in day-to-day work.
- Available for and capable of managing multi-disciplinary activities, ensuring integration and consistency.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of planning, ownership and project discipline.
