Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assign ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifier as appropriate and abstract pertinent information from patient records.
Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations.
Ensures optimal reimbursement of all cases in compliance with CMS policies and regulations and adhere to Official coding guidelines.
Implements Physician query process when medical records are inadequate, ambiguous or unclear to assign codes.
Work as part of a team and achieve the quality and production per process standards.
Observes and reports unusual patterns in clinical documentation at a facility and Physician specific levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Life Science graduates or BDS, BHAMS, BPT, BPharm/ MPharm
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, Human anatomy, and physiology
AAPC or AHIMA certified medical coder
Minimum of 2 yrs. experience of ED Professional. Experience in ED Facility, EM IP or OP coding is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Apps like Outlook, Teams, Excel, word etc.
Must be self-motivated, responsive and committed to communicate with supervisors
Have a positive and respectful attitude.
