Sr Manager Solution Engineering

As a Technical Solutions Architect at Tata Communications in Chennai, India, with 15-20 years of experience in the Telecommunications and Software Development industry, your primary role will be to design and deploy end-to-end solutions across multivendor telecom ecosystems. This will involve ensuring seamless integration of technologies from vendors like Cisco, Nokia, Huawei, Juniper, and others. Your expertise in Tx, IP, SD-WAN, RAN, Core, and Cloud will be crucial in driving revenue growth by delivering interoperable, vendor-agnostic solutions tailored to complex customer needs. Key Responsibilities: Multivendor Solution Design: - Architect and defend solutions that integrate heterogeneous vendor platforms such as routers, switches, SDN controllers, and OSS/BSS. - Ensure compatibility and performance across multivendor environments while addressing interoperability challenges. - Lead Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to validate cross-vendor solutions. Stakeholder Collaboration: - Partner with sales, engineering, and vendor teams to align solutions with customer requirements and industry standards. - Act as a bridge between customers, internal teams, and third-party vendors to resolve technical conflicts. RFP & Market Leadership: - Develop competitive multivendor Request for Proposal (RFP) responses for global customers, emphasizing cost/performance trade-offs. - Provide insights to leadership on vendor selection strategies to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Automation & Tools: - Design vendor-agnostic automation frameworks for network management utilizing tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and custom APIs. Desired Skills & Qualifications: - Multivendor Proficiency: Hands-on experience with at least 2 vendor stacks and knowledge of standardized protocols for multivendor interoperability. - Technical Breadth: Expertise in at least 2 domains among IP/MPLS, SD-WAN, 5G RAN, Core (4G/5G), or Cloud-Native Telco. - Soft Skills: Ability to negotiate with vendors, articulate trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and prepare presentations for RFP responses and Defence.
