Synopsis of the Role

Lead Plant ME Function. Guide and mentor team in identifying & executing automation, review Line Layouts to improve

flow, reduce WIP & save space, review plant capacities and improvise based on sales projections.

Job Responsibility:

Automation:

? Identify Havells manufacturing lines suitable for automation

? Identify technically & financially competent automation suppliers

? Prepare draft automation concept & float RFQ on proposed automation

? Technical discussions and clarifications with suppliers & evaluation of their proposals

? Finalise automation concept and specifications and get it approved from Head-ME - HO

? Arrange final quotes based on final specifications & prepare project justification sheet (IRR, Payback)

? Get the order released to approved vendor and conduct DAP with supplier along with CFT

? Machine inspection at supplier end & give clearance for dispatch

? Installation and commissioning of line and training to operative personnel

? Monitor the line targets with actual. If not met, take CAPA

? Ensure timely release of all process related documents, production norms

Productivity Norms and Capacities:

? Review Cycle time studies, line balancing and capacities of respective products for accuracy

? Benchmark norms within the group or with external companies for improvement

? Develop ideas to improve productivity and capacities with minimal investments or technical break through

Layout improvements:

? Review Line Layouts for material flow, space utilization, man movement & identify scope for improvement

? Standardize WIP at each stage and strive to reduce it via Process design improvements

? Review ergonomics and ensure safe working conditions for the operators

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

? Knowledge of Automation concepts

? Knowledge of Traceability & interlocks

? Strong mathematical & analytical ability

? Good Proficiency in Auto Cad, Excel, Power Point

? Project Management Skill

? Knowledge of conducting Time, Method study, Line Balancing

Minimum Criteria:

? Qualification: BE Mech/ Electrical

? Experience: More than 10 years

Desired Criteria:

? Course in Robotics / Automation

? MOST certification
