Sr. Lead Software Engineer

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Technology division, you will be an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role will involve providing technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors. You will also be responsible for developing secure and high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code written by others, and making decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes. In this position, you will leverage your deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills to address a diverse array of challenges spanning multiple technologies and applications. You will act as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus, actively contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle, and influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies. To be successful in this role, you should have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts along with a minimum of 5 years of applied experience. You must possess hands-on practical experience in delivering system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability. Demonstrated ability to independently tackle design and functionality problems with minimal oversight is essential. Proficiency in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems using Core Java and Spring Boot is required, as well as experience with deploying, operating, and monitoring applications with containerization technology like Kubernetes (GKP). Familiarity with automating CI/CD pipelines in cloud infrastructure and experience with modern observability/monitoring systems such as Splunk or Dynatrace are also beneficial. Preferred qualifications include a background in Derivatives/Equities/FX settlements systems, proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, and Groovy, and experience with front-end frameworks like Angular, React, and other JavaScript technologies. An in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems would be an added advantage.,
