Sr & Jr Technician

Job Title:

Job Purpose

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, preventive and corrective maintenance of ground-mounted solar power plants. The role ensures smooth functioning, maximum uptime, and optimal performance of the solar PV system in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform

  routine inspection, monitoring, and maintenance

  of solar PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in the solar plant to minimize downtime.
  
• Carry out

  preventive and corrective maintenance activities

  as per schedule.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and calibration of solar equipment.
  
• Maintain

  logbooks, daily reports, and maintenance records

  of plant performance.
• Monitor energy generation and identify performance deviations or breakdowns.
  
• Ensure compliance with

  electrical safety standards, PPE usage, and company HSE policies

• Support the O&M engineer/manager in plant audits, inspections, and technical reporting.
  
• Coordinate with contractors/vendors for specialized maintenance activities.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  solar PV systems, electrical circuits, AC/DC systems, and power distribution

  .
• Ability to troubleshoot

  inverters, switchgear, and transformers

  .
• Familiarity with tools, testing instruments, and SCADA monitoring systems.
  
• Good understanding of

  safety procedures and electrical standards (IEC/IS/IE Rules)

  .
• Strong problem-solving ability and hands-on technical skills.

• Preferred candidate profile

  :

Qualification & Experience

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

  or equivalent.
• 25 years of experience in

  solar O&M / electrical maintenance

  (ground-mounted projects preferred).
• Knowledge of solar PV systems, HT/LT systems, and protection devices.
  

Other Details

• Reporting to:

  O&M Engineer / Site In-charge

• Work Environment:

  On-site, outdoor fieldwork with travel as required.

• Shift:

  As per project requirement (may include weekends/holidays for urgent maintenance).
