Sr DBA Team Lead

You will be responsible for managing database administration, performance optimization, and system stability as a Senior Database Administrator (Sr DBA) / Team Lead DBA Infrastructure / Cloud Operations at QAD. Your main focus will be on ensuring high availability and performance of QAD database environments through proactive monitoring, tuning, and automation of routine tasks. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, and stay updated with industry trends to apply best practices in database administration. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage, maintain, and optimize QAD database environments for high availability and performance. - Proactively monitor and tune databases to enhance stability and efficiency. - Implement automation and scripting for routine tasks to improve efficiency. - Ensure database backup, recovery plans, and disaster recovery strategies are in place and tested regularly. - Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, conducting root cause analysis. - Provide technical mentorship to junior DBAs and act as a point of escalation for complex issues. - Collaborate with cloud operations and infrastructure teams for seamless database integration. - Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to align database strategies with business goals. **Qualifications:** - Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Experience: 8+ years of database administration experience with leadership or mentoring responsibilities. - Strong knowledge of Progress Database Administration, including best practices and performance tuning. - Experience with Progress OE12, QAD EE/AUX technology, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, AWS RDS, and MongoDB. - Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems, scripting with Python, Bash, or similar languages. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred. In addition, you should possess ITIL certification or equivalent service management experience, experience in ISO audit compliance, and be available to work night shifts from 10:00 PM IST to 07:00 AM IST as part of a rotational 24/7 DBA On Call support schedule.
