Sr. DBA

As a Database Administrator, you will be reporting to the Manager of Product Development and will be responsible for various tasks related to maintaining and optimizing the database systems. Your primary responsibilities will include working on performance tuning, query optimization, and providing support to the DB team. You will be managing the day-to-day operations of the Microsoft SQL Server estate and will also be involved in migrating from SQL to PostgreSQL. Additionally, you will be consulting the team on PostgreSQL topics, troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, and security issues. It will be your responsibility to provide support and guidance to the development team for database-related tasks and to implement automated failover and monitoring mechanisms to minimize downtime and ensure data consistency. You should have the ability to analyze and interpret advanced database metrics to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues. Furthermore, you will participate in capacity planning by examining current performance and growth metrics, forecasting future growth, and providing recommendations for increased capacity. To excel in this role, you must possess strong technical SQL DBA experience, solid knowledge of MS SQL and SQL server, experience with OLAP solutions, deep expertise with performance tuning including optimizing data models and query tuning, infrastructure maintenance such as version updates, and SQL capacity planning. You should be able to work independently, think proactively to develop your skills, and come up with innovative ideas to enhance the database systems.,
